  • Verify internet connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Reset password: If you’ve forgotten your password, use the password reset option or contact IT support.

File Syncing Problems

Files Not Syncing

  • Check OneDrive status: Ensure the OneDrive client is running and you are signed in.
    1. Ensure OneDrive is running: Look for the OneDrive icon (Small Blue Cloud) in your system tray (usually at the bottom right of your screen). If you don't see it, you might need to start OneDrive manually. You can do this by searching for "OneDrive" in your Start menu and clicking on the app to open it.

    2. Sign in to OneDrive: If the OneDrive client is running but not signed in, you'll see a prompt to sign in. Enter your Microsoft account credentials to sign in. If you're already signed in, you should see the OneDrive icon in the system tray without any warning symbols.

  • Verify internet connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
    1. Check your network icon: Look at the network icon in your system tray (usually at the bottom right of your screen). If you see a Wi-Fi symbol or an Ethernet symbol without any warning signs, your internet connection is likely stable.

    2. Open a web browser: Try opening a web browser and navigating to a website you frequently visit. If the website loads without issues, your internet connection is working fine.

  • Restart OneDrive: Try restarting the OneDrive application.
    1. Close OneDrive: Locate the OneDrive icon in your system tray (usually at the bottom right of your screen). Right-click on the icon and select "Close OneDrive" or "Exit."

    2. Restart OneDrive: Open the Start menu and type "OneDrive" in the search bar. Click on the OneDrive app to restart it. You should see the OneDrive icon reappear in the system tray.

  • Check storage limits: Ensure you have not exceeded your storage limit.
  • Update OneDrive: Ensure you have the latest version of the OneDrive client.

Sync Conflicts and Duplicate Files

  • Resolve sync conflicts: When a conflict occurs, choose which version of the file to keep.
  • Rename conflicting files: Rename one of the conflicting files to prevent future conflicts.
  • Review sync errors: Check the sync error messages and follow the recommended steps to resolve them.

File and Folder Issues

Missing Files or Folders

  • Check the Recycle Bin: Deleted files may be in the OneDrive Recycle Bin.
  • Search for files: Use the search function to locate missing files.
  • Check version history: If a file is missing or overwritten, you may be able to restore a previous version.

Unable to Upload Files

OneDrive Performance Issues
